로테카 미리코이데스, 나비를 빼닮은 꽃

"로테카 미리코이데스(Rotheca Myricoides)"는 아프리카가 원산지인 꿀풀과의 소관목이다.

 

학명은 Rotheca Myricoides이다.  영명은 Butterfly Bush, Butterfly Clerodendrum, Blue Butterfly Bush 이다.

 

소관목으로 뿌리에서 많은 줄기를 뻗는다. 

 

 잎은 난형으로 마주 달리며, 끝이 뾰족하고 길이는 5~9cm로 가장자리에 가는 톱니가 있다.

 

 

 

 

잎 겨드랑이에서 꽃대가 올라와 지름 2cm 정도의 청색, 자색, 흰색이 어우러진 꽃이 핀다.

 

열대지역의 꽃으로는 특이하게 나비 모양을 한 형태이다.  통풍이 좋은 반그늘이나 밝은 그늘에 두고 관리한다.

 

물주기는 화분의 흙이 마르면 충분히 주고, 겨울철에는 건조하게 관리한다.

 

 

 

열매(직경 10mm)는 어린 시기에 꽃받침으로 둘러싸여 있으며 붉은색에서 검게 익는다.

 

 

 

"로테카 미리코이데스(Rotheca Myricoides)"  향기가 아주 약한 꽃인데,

 

나비를 닮은 모양으로 나비가 친구로 혼동할 거 같다.

 

 

 

 

Rotheca Myricoides "Butterfly Bush" is more commonly referred to as the

 

Blue Butterfly.  It is called this because of the space of its flowers.

 

In the early summer, it produced beautiful light blue and lavender flowers

 

that blooms into a shape that resembles a butterfly. 

 

 

 

 

It is an evergreen shrub that gets up to 10 feet tall just as wide.

 

It has leaves that are shaped like eggs and are 3 to 4 inches long.

 

It is native to Keyna and Uganda in East Africa.

 

 

It enjoys partial shade and requires regular watering.
