안투리움, 꼬리모양의 꽃 의미하는 라틴어

The genus Anthurium, the largest in the Aroid family, contains more than 700 species.

 

Some are grown for their decorative foliage, but perhaps the best known to plant lovers

 

Who live outside the tropics are those with beautifully coloured "flowers",

 

Which are actually large spathes, or leaf bracts, surrounding the fleshy flower spikes.

 

The best known is A. andracanum, sometimes called the flamingo Flower,

 

which has bright red glossy spathes. 

 

 

 

 

Discovered in 1876 in Colombia, it proved a sensation in European glasshouses and

 

nurseries and was used to produce numerous hybrids with spathes in varying shades of

 

pink and pure white. 

 

 

 

 

On A. scherzeriaman the spathes are smaller but equally dramatic,

 

in shades of orange or red.  A secies discovered as recently as 1972, in Panama, has

 

mauve-coloured spathes and is now being widely cultivated. 

 

 

 

 

Anthurium requires filtered sunlight and a moist but very well-drained growing medium;

 

in pots this is often a mixture of soil, fiber, and broken bricks, with regular applications of

 

liquid ferilizer.  Propagation is by means of offshotts from the parent plant.

 

 

 

 

안투리움(Anthurium)은 천남성과 안투리움속 공기정화 식물의 총칭으로 아메리카의 열대지역이 원산지이다.

 

학명은  Anthurium Schott, 영어명은 Flamingo Lily이다.  약 600여 종 중에 주원산지인 콜롬비아에 약 500종의 자생종이 있으며  나머지는 열대 아메리카에

 

분포한다.  난과 같은 자생 또는 착생으로 자란다.  안투리움(Anthurium)이라는 명칭은 꼬리 모양의 꽃을 의미하는 라틴어의 두 개의 단어에서 나왔다.

 

안투리움(Anthurium)은 꽃을 관상하는 종류와 잎을 관상하는 종류로 나뉜다.  꽃을 관상하는 종류에는 많은 원에품종이 있다.  여기에서 꽃이라고 부르는 것은

 

사실은 불염포라고 불리우는 부분으로 그 포가 붉은색이나 분홍색, 흰색으로 채색되어 있어 마치 꽃잎과 같아 보이는 것을 의미한다.  실제의 꽃은 중앙에 돌출된 원통모양이다. 

 

 

 

* 안투리움 안드레아넘(Anthurium Andreanum) -  콜롬비아가 원산지이며 습한 밀림에서 자란다. 줄기를 짧은 관목성이며 잎의 길이는 30~40cm,

 

폭은 10~20cm로 잎이 가늘고 긴 편이다.  꽃(불염포)는 연중 피며 포의 색깔은 흰색, 분홍색, 적색 등으로 다양하다.

 

* 안투리움 세르지아넘(Anthurium Scherzerium) - 코스타리카, 과테말라가 원산지이다.  잎은 가늘며 작은 불염표를 관상하는 종류로 분식물보다 좋다.

 

포는 붉은 색과 흰색으로 광택이 없다.  우리나라에는 아마존, 베린다, 델타 등이 재배되고 있다.

 

* 안토리움 워러퀘아넘(Anthurium Warocqueanum) - 콜롬비아가 원산지이며 관엽종으로 포는 관상가치가 없다.  줄기는 굵고 자라는게 더뎌서

 

키가 잘 크지 않는다.  잎은 광택이 있으며 길이는 60cm이상, 폭은 약 20cm 이상으로 자라지만 화분에 심을 경우 이것보다 덜 자란다.

 

* 안투리움 크리스탈리움(Anthurium Crystalium) - 콜롬비아가 원산지이며 관엽종으로 포는 관상가치가 없다.  짧은 줄기에서 근경이 나오고

 

생육이 더뎌서 잘 크지 않는다.  잎의 길이는 약 20cm, 폭은 약 15cm 정도이다.
